Ink Pop: Novel Novice Staff Submission

As we reported earlier today, there is a great site for fans and writers of Teen Lit called Ink Pop. I have been working on a YA novel off and on for a little over two years. About a month ago I began querying agents (which is an adventure on its own). I posted the first nine chapters of my novel, Sublime on Ink Pop today. Below you will find a synopsis of my novel:

Sublime is the story of a young girl named Tess who finds herself struggling to create a sense of identity in a world where education, speech, and relationships are forcefully controlled by genetically engineered humans known as the chosen ones. Tess, emotionally traumatized by the disappearance of her father and death of her sister, finds little to interest her in the world around her. She desires nothing more than order—if she can remain in control of her emotions and instincts she will survive. Tess is successful in her separation from the world around her until she meets James, a chosen one. It is only when she begins to befriend someone she was taught to fear and mistrust that she begins to realize just how important love and friendship are. But these things are not allowed, and soon Tess and James must fight against the very system they helped to create.

Now my novel is no where near perfect. It has not been looked over by a professional editor, and who knows if it will ever see the light of day. But I thought it might be fun to share it with NNT, Novel Novice, and Ink Pop. If you would like to check out the first nine chapters of the novel, please click here to head over to the great new site, Ink Pop. Sign up and read away!
