Contests galore to win great prizes in April!

We’ve got some more GREAT contests going on right now here at Novel Novice Twilight and at our sister site, Novel Novice — and they all have some pretty fantastic prizes! Here are the details:

Eclipse Fan Fiction Challenge

For this challenge, we want you to write a scene from Eclipse from the point-of-view of a character other than Bella.  You can choose any character, no matter how minor or important, but the scene must take place during the timeline of Eclipse and fit into the storyline and the canon Twilight universe.

Winners will each receive a prize-pack of Twilight Saga goodies, including trading cards, a pen & bookmarks!

Entries are due by midnight (PST) on Friday, April 30th.

Charlaine Harris Comic Book Contest

Create an original piece of fan art or a video for ANY novel by Charlaine Harris. This can include the Sookie Stackhouse books, the Harper Connelly series, or any other of Harris’ books.

First place winner will receive a signed copy of Bluewater Comics’ Charlaine Harris Biography Comic Book. One runner-up will get an original, signed page of the comic book from the artist.

All submissions are due by midnight (PST) on Sunday, April 25th.

National Poetry Month Contest

We’re celebrating National Poetry Month at Novel Novice with a Poetry Contest. Simply write a poem — any kind of poem! Any subject matter and any form is acceptable, but poems should be at least 10 lines long and no more than two single-spaced pages (no haiku or limericks).

Need inspiration? Check out our creative writing prompts for ideas.

One first place winner will receive an awesome prize package courtesy of Sourcebooks, the publishers of Poetry Speaks Who I Am. The prize includes a copy of Poetry Speaks Who I Am, Poetry Speaks to Children, The Tree That Time Built, Hip Hop Speaks to Children, My Hippo Loves the Hiccups, and the adult anthology Poetry Speaks. Second- and third-place winners will each receive a copy of Poetry Speaks Who I Am.

E-mail your poems in the body of an email to libby.novelnovice@live.com

Entries are due by 5pm (EST) on Tuesday, April 27th.

Lisa Schroeder Writing Contest

Our April Book of the Month author at Novel Novice is YA goddess Lisa Schroeder — and we’ve got a great writing contest inspired by her style of writing.

For this contest, write about the experience of loss, or the experience of facing your own mortality. It can be either a true story, or made-up (fiction). You may write your response in verse, as a poem … OR you may write in prose, as a short story or as a sort of journal entry.

Two winners will each get a free copy of one of Lisa’s books — winner’s choice of: Chasing Brooklyn; Far From You; I Heart You, You Haunt Me or It’s Raining Cupcakes.

Send your submissions to sara.novelnovice@comcast.net

The deadline is Friday, April 30th by midnight (PST).
