Breaking Dawn in theaters Nov. 18, 2011?

HitFix is reporting an official release date for Breaking Dawn:

A Summit Entertainment spokesperson has confirmed to HitFix that “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” will open nationwide on Nov. 18, 2011. It’s still officially unknown if “Dawn” will be broken up into one or, as rumored, two films. Stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are all expected to return.

Directed by Oscar-winner Bill Condon, the fourth book in Stephenie Meyer’s popular series chronicles Bella’s most advanced initiation into the vampire world to date, but is also seen by many as the most difficult to adapt of all the best-selling novels. Melissa Rosenberg, who adapted the first two novels, would continue in that role for “Dawn.”

The third movie in the series, “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” will debut in theaters on June 30 nationwide and in IMAX.

It’s sound more and more like this will be one movie, but we’ll wait for official word on that & the release date from Summit before we completely start squealing with excitement. 🙂

  1. Wouldn’t they have said “Part 1” if it was going to be split into 2 movies? Surely they must have made that decision by now? Melissa Rosenberg has been working on the script for a while now, hasn’t she?

No surprise they are waiting til Nov to release. They aren’t even starting to film until October, and think of all the post-production they will have to do…even if Renesmee is a live actress (or several based on her rate of growth!), they will need to do some CGI for her. And of course the wolves. And vampire effects.

Plus, the final Harry Potter movie comes out in July and Summit has made it very clear that they do not want to compete with that. (for very good reason!)

  2. I cant wait for the 30th of this month to see eclipse in the theaters and plus im TEAM JACOB ALL THE WAY sorry team edward fans but taylor lautner is hotter than edward
