  1. Agh. I was afraid this was going to happen … I have been in the “one movie” camp for a long time. I hope they can pull off two good movies, because I have major doubts — based on my feelings on the books, not on Summit (so far, I’ve been pretty happy with all the movies). I just think there’s so much in BD that could be cut down or chopped out … I just don’t see how it can make two compelling movies.

And honestly, wouldn’t one GOOD movie be better than two okay movies?

Oh well, I guess we’ll see how it turns out … that’s my jaded two cents, anyway.

This is exactly my feeling, too.

So much of BD is internal and will be hard to bring to the screen. Sure, it’s 800 pages, but not all 800 pages are going to translate well.

In order to make it work as 2 movies, there’s going to have to be changes to the book. Probably even more changes then there have been in the other three movies.

I’m trying to imagine how to fill 4 hours of BD on screen. The first movie will be… the wedding and honeymoon – which will be fade-to-black because it’s PG-13. Bella finds out she’s pregnant. Edward goes catatonic. Jake, Leah, and Seth come to the Cullens. Jake is all angsty. Leah and Seth wander around as wolves. And Bella pines away on the sofa. That’s exciting. The last 15 minutes will be the birth scene, somehow kept to PG-13.

The second movie: Bella wakes up as a vampire. Her first hunt. She doesn’t kill humans. (that could make for a suspenseful scene, at least) She doesn’t attack Jake for imprinting. Blah blah blah. More fade-to-black PG-13 vampire lovin’ scenes. Oh! The Volturi are coming! But nothing happens. It’s all a lot of talk. We’ll get to see some pretty special effects for visualizing Bella’s shield I bet. The best part of the 2nd movie will be meeting all the other vampires.

And for the love of all that’s holy, PLEASE don’t make BD 3D. We really don’t need blood squirting out at us during the birth scene. Really.

Yes, I’m trying to get all the negativity out of my system NOW so that once filming starts and we get more details, I can be more open-minded.
