Top 5 Reasons to Attend a Twilight Convention – # 2

As the Twilight Convention is winding down in Portland, we are nearing the end of our weekend segment of Top 5 Reasons to Attend a Twilight Convention. Today, we will present our top two reasons to attend one of these amazing events. I can tell from Sara’s tweets (@novelnovice) that she’s having a great time.

Reason # 2 – The talented actors of The Twilight Saga. At the convention I attended in Charlotte, I got to mingle with the following actors: Peter Facinelli (if you can believe it more handsome in person than in the films), Mike Welch and Justin Chon (a dynamic duo who I asked if they would be willing to star in a buddy cop show….I’d watch), Gil Birmingham (easily the most calm of the actors, but def a great source on the film business), and Charlie Bewley (hands down the most interesting of the group. Sometimes a little hard to follow where he was going in his conversation, but def enjoyable to listen to. He also came out into the crowd quite a bit).  These actors aren’t just there to sign autographs and take pictures, nor are they just there to relate stories about the filming of the Twilight series (though they certainly do both). These actors just want to have fun. You can tell they appreciate the fans, and are fans of the series themselves. They are gracious with their time, and don’t put on any airs or pretentious attitudes.

Some actor highlights:

Mike and Justin started their Q&A session with a pasta dinner for two.

Mike’s dead-on impersonations of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson

When Peter Facinelli found out I was a teacher, he took it upon himself to make our picture a bit more dramatic. You can click here to see it.

Charlie Bewley’s crowd immersion.

Gil’s patience when the girls constantly yelled every time Taylor’s name was mentioned.
